Laughing Out Loud for Yoga

Paloma Chavez

laughfour.jpgOn May 4th, devotees of the World Laughter Day gathered to celebrate a day of good fun, community and most of all -laughter. From Oregon to Frankfurt, Germany, Laughter Yoga was heard in the streets, in the forests and in public parks.

Created in 1988 by the founder of the Laughter Yoga practice, Dr. Madan Kataria, the celebration was an act for “world peace and global consciousness of brotherhood and friendship through laughter.” So through this joyful act the Laughter Clubs around the world set out to bring a day of “unconditional love and laughter.”

In Gatineau Canada, members gathered in 13 degree weather under grey skies, in Buffalo NY, people gathered in the Delaware Park with festive activities, and then in Taiwan people met at the Taipei Railroad Station to participate in a “Silly Walking” and laughter celebration.

Where will you be on the next World Laughter Day? Why wait?
