The night before the Democratic National Convention begins in Denver on August 24, a group of health conscious delegates and yogis will come together at the Yoga Month Denver Health Festival.

This two-day festival (August 24-25) will be hosted by The Yoga Health Foundation, a non-profit organization, and OmPass, a yoga and health resource company. The festival will be aimed at bringing awareness to the public and convention delegates about the urgency of improving health care in the US, and it will also focus on the health benefits of holistic options such as the practice of yoga. The festival will include free yoga classes, a green and holistic marketplace, and noted yoga teachers such as Seane Corn, Hemalayaa and Hala Khouri.

According to Johannes Fisslinger, President of The Yoga Health Foundation, “We’ve been talking to some of the high-level politicians and a lot them are totally into health care. Obviously it’s a big subject in politics and in this election.”

As part of Yoga Month, the festival will travel to additional cities in the US and Canada, including Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, New York, Austin, Chicago, Boston, Miami, and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Some of the proceeds from the festival will be donated to the Youth Health Alliance, a charity that provides free yoga classes to under-privileged youth and the families that support them.
