Free Yoga in the Park

Free Yoga in the ParkResidents of Grand Traverse, Michigan, may be surprised to learn that yoga is happening just outside their door. This summer, the Grand Traverse community will have the opportunity to enjoy free yoga classes from the Sacred Space Yoga studio. However, they will not be doing their downward facing dog poses indoors. Sacred Space Yoga is introducing yoga newcomers to the benefits of practicing yoga in the great outdoors through a series of free “Yoga in the Park” sessions.

According to Neely Neu, owner of Scared Space Yoga and a certified yoga instructor since 2002, “My only goal is to reach as many people as possible, especially those who have always wanted to try yoga, but never have.” Every free class is led by one of the several certified yoga teachers from Sacred Space Yoga and is open to any level of yoga experience. Each session, which is an hour long, begins with a meditation that encourages students to calm their minds and block out any outside distractions.

The Saturday class, which is from 9:30 to 10:30 am, began on June 7 and will run through to September 6 at the F&M Park in Traverse City. So if you live in the area, why not take a stroll to the park this Saturday morning and give the classes a try.
