Even Yoga Teachers Get Stressed Sometimes!
I should know better, I know, I know…. I’ve been sick for a couple days now and of course could probably attribute it to some virus or food but know it’s more stress related than anything else.
But what to do when your friends need you and your cash is not flowing and you’re stuck on loop with your writing project and of course taxes are due! Reminds me of that old tune from Godspell that goes
When you feel sad, or under a curse
Your life is bad, your prospects are worse
Your wife is sighing, crying,
And your olive tree is dying,
Temples are graying, and teeth are decaying
And creditors weighing your purse…
Of course, times like this rolling out the yoga mat is probably the last thing on your mind. Fortunately for me being a yoga teacher keeps me close to my yoga practice. Call it accountability, or honesty or just expectations – the students remind me when I stress, and forget.
That is why I bow and thank my students at the end of a session. They are helping me.

I’d like yoga to get me into spring since the weather won’t cooperate–Saraswati do you think you need to be fairly strong in yoga practice to be able to properly meditate?
