Margaret "Saraswati" Kruszewska
Margaret (spiritual name “Saraswati”) has been teaching yoga since 1990, most recently as studio owner of the former Yoginis Yogic Arts Studio in Los Angeles. Yoginis served the Eagle Rock area for many years as a center of yoga classes, art exhibits, and music performances (www.yoginis.com).
Margaret received her Yoga Teachers’ Training with the Sivananda Vedanta Center in Kerala, India where she was initiated with the name, “Saraswati.” She has taught at schools, privately and in the NY and LA Sivananda Centers.
Her teaching style blends the Sivananda tradition (which emphasizes proper breathing, relaxation, exercise, nutrition and meditation) with her background in the performing arts and women’s spirituality rituals.
She draws on her knowledge of ancient art, mythology, philosophy and cosmology to inspire students and to create a unique experience according to the practitioner’s needs.
Born in Poland, she has lived most her life in Los Angeles and Manhattan and is currently in the San Francisco Bay area where she is completing her Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religion with a special interest in ancient female yogic practices. She is also a playwright and poet, having spent many years working in the performing arts. Her writings appear in academic and artistic publications.
