Stop the Whirlwind!

Christina Souza Ma

I’ve spent years working feverishly, keeping up with business and not realizing that my personal life was coming second…until now.

I’ve come to realize that my tsunami was a result of catering to the needs of others. It was necessary for them to proceed in their flow…not mine. Upon realizing this, I have now had to stop and make changes. I need to move and flow in life and business at my pace and not necessarily at the pace of others.

Uncomfortable, yes. I’m not quite used to putting myself before others.

Megan McDonough has written a book titled “A Minute for Me.” I have yet to read the whole book as I keep getting distracted, but I keep it by my side. Why? Because it reminds me to be conscious of decisions that I make and the repercussions of how it will affect my flow.

I have always known that we are in charge of ourselves. We are in control of how we create our balance. I have always known this, but to actually put it into action continuously – or to be conscious of it – has not been easily done.

For me, the change is now. It has already begun.

  1. Hello dear Christina, I love that you recognize that when you’re honoring your own flow, you can best be of service to others. Getting caugt up in the wave of another’s energy is so easy to do, isn’t it? I’m so glad we get to share so many minutes together, you and I! And I love that when we do share those minutes we both honor our respective energies…I think that what makes a supportive and long-lasting friendship.

It’s about time you stopped taking care of others and start focusing on you. You have been such a generous caregiver and friend, and we have all been so lucky to be the recipients of your time and talent. Now let us help you. Let us know when you need something. A night off to see a film, some time to go to a museum or just not do anything. Call me and I can watch Z & Piglet.

  3. Thank you dear friends!
Your love and support is held close to my heart. I enjoy caring for others very much and is innately in my personality. It would throw me off balance if I were to only focus on self. It is just about finding the balance and flow that fits each one of us as individuals. It is adjusting what already is and as we go through our journey in this life it will call for other adjustments.
I am enjoying being conscious of my time with my loved ones, my friends, my family.
It’s great to live in those precious moments.
