Screening of NINE and Q&A

daniel-day-lewis.jpgLast week, I had a screening for the new big budget musical movie called “NINE” that will be released on December 25th. In addition to the fact that I love musicals in live theatres and movies, there was the added bonus of a Q&A with all the main cast members: Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz, and Judi Dench. I’ve been attending a lot of screenings with Q&A where big famous actors come on the stage, but this is the biggest Q&A I could see.

As a huge fan of musicals, the movie actually surprised me because I did not enjoy myself. It was the first time ever that this happened to me. All the cast members did fantastic jobs but the movie itself somehow did not engage me at all. Although I was less than satisfied by the film, however, I was still very excited to see the assembled cast members.

After the movie, the moderator introduced the cast one by one, starting with Marion, then Penélope, Judi, Kate, Nicole, and Daniel. When he called out “Judi Dench,” it almost brought me to tears. I admire her as an actor so much, and I’m sure there are lots and lots of actors who feel the same way. But the funny thing was that when she came out from the side of the movie screen, I felt that she was coming out from the 007 movie! She looked exactly the same as we see her in that movie. But she definitely carried a great and powerful aura in herself. I could feel the energy from the audience and could see that everyone admires and respects her so much. The same thing happened to Daniel when he came out. Don’t get me wrong. All the cast members are well respected, but those two have been around longer than the other cast members, so they are even more respected.

I felt so blessed to be able to share that special moment with such wonderful actors. And maybe someday I will be one of them?!![tags]musical, theatres, theaters, movie, nine, big budget movie, Q&A, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz, Judi Dench[/tags]
