Free Yoga for All

Paloma Chavez

yogaforpeople.jpg“There will be no correct clothes. There will be no proper payment. There will be no right answers. No glorified teachers. No ego no script no pedestals. This yoga is for everyone.”

Yoga to the People is located in New York and Berkely and they are committed to making yoga affordable and accessible to all who are interested in a yoga practice. Operating as a donation based studio they are spreading the word through visitors and students. At each session there is a “suggested donation” box, but no one is turned away for lack of the suggested $10.00.

The studio was reviewed by the Village Voice as the “Best Free Yoga” and says “Yoga to the People aims to make yoga accessible for everyone, from the inflexible to the poor.”

Power Vinyasa Flow classes are taught by experienced teachers who have worked with all levels as well as with members of professional sports teams and dancers. Class schedules are similar both in New York and Berkley running Monday through Sunday with morning, afternoon and early evening sessions.

According to their mission, “Yoga is meant to help strengthen and stretch your arms and legs, not cost you one!”
