Dr. King’s Words

Today we honor and recognize the work of one of the world’s most inspired peace leaders – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As a man of faith, conscious and eloquence he strove to shift the world’s view on the American civil rights movement during a time of nationwide unrest. To uplift the human spirit by speaking of freedom, peace and compassion when all around him was untethered racism and inequality. But he stood strong and unwavering throughout his life.

We have all been touched or influenced by his selfless acts and his passionate words. So we wanted to take a moment to share an assemblage of his thoughts that continue to resonate in our daily lives, on this memorable day. And to add direction and increased understanding to all of our efforts to create a peaceful and balanced world.

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

The time is always right to do what is right.

A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.

An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.
