Viniyoga for Mommies at Yoga House

byoga.jpgAfter experiencing a class with Syd Delaski , I decided to visit her where she teaches weekly at the Yoga House in Pasadena, California. Be sure to check their schedule as it does change.

This is a beautiful facility, with two very large rooms, high ceilings and wood floors. Lots of Mats, blankets, blocks, etc.
Syd teaches a form of Viniyoga. The class was focused mainly on us Mom’s as she takes the time to make sure we connect back to our bodies and breath. Not strenuous in any way.

She creates a calming environment both soothing for the mothers and fun for the children who can play with various toys and books to keep the youngsters curious and occupied in the center of the room. Syd made certain that the toys were all washed after every class as almost every one of the children were are at some stage of teething, drooling, and crawling.

To finish the class, she takes the children who are willing out to the reception area to sing songs while us mom’s get 10 minutes of “Shivasana”, final relaxation.

At the end of this I felt decompressed, rested and ready to return to the office and I ‘m certain that my relaxed state helped my son Zariyan rest more soundly too.
