Rebirth in the New Year

CSM_rebirth_02.11.09.jpgIn my last blog, I wrote about the experience of arriving in Vancouver when it was covered in a blanket of snow. I mentioned that when we went to bed that night, we left the blinds open so that we could enjoy the beautiful display from nature.

The next morning, I woke up and looked out the window to an amazing sight.

The trees that, months earlier, had shared their amazing gold leaves with me were now dressed in their winter whites. The snow had covered their bare branches, draping them in soft, fluffy crystals. How amazing it was to see each little frozen crystal of water balancing one upon another, creating an image of grounded serenity while capturing a rainbow of colors and vibrations.

This time, the energy the environment shared with me captured the feeling that all is as it should be in its place. Each crystal was beautiful and unique, frozen in all its beauty in varieties of shapes and forms, reminding me of how every one of us is different and yet the same.

The sensation of peace and beauty filled the air and my soul.

As the snow melted, we watched the city return to its original colors. This time around, however, it felt cleansed and refreshed, like a rebirth into the new year.

As I move through this time of fear that has engulfed so much of the planet, this metaphor has stayed with me and brought me peace and comfort. It is a powerful reminder from nature that it is time for a cleansing and rebirth that must start from within each of us so that we can share the renewal and re-awakening of our planet.
