8 Glasses of Water a Day

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

The old saying goes, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Well, if you’re referring to “Apple” products – the iPhone in particular, that is – perhaps the saying still has merit in today’s fast-paced society.

I find myself saying “There’s an App For That!” nearly every day now. With the app store touting nearly 200,000 apps, I’ve come to a recent conclusion that there is pretty much an app for just about everything you can think of — no matter how small a niche or obscure the idea. (more…)

Relaxing with Yoga Nidra

Friday, April 9th, 2010
Angie

For anyone who has had the privilege of listening to Julie Lusk’s “Relax Deeply with Yoga Nidra,” you will probably understand what I am talking about.

Last night, I had trouble sleeping. This actually occurs quite frequently as I think my brain is sometimes way too active. I tend to over-analyze things or stay up really late to get things done. So a lot of the time I am up until 4 in the morning. Sometimes I’ve even been known to pull all nighters just to finish something, and last night was one of those nights. (more…)

Being Flexible

Thursday, April 8th, 2010
Madoka

I haven’t practiced yoga for a while, partially because we’ve had a really busy schedule that has temporarily stopped us from doing our daily yoga practice at the office, and partially because I don’t have time or money to go to yoga studios. (more…)

Feeling Like H.E. Double Hockey-Sticks Today!

What the…? Why me? Why now?

Went to bed last night with an upset tummy, but I figured it was nothing a few zzzzs wouldn’t fix. Then today I woke up feeling fine, but about 20 minutes into my daily morning walk to and from Starbucks (no, I didn’t get my Chai Tea Late, just a Green Happy Planet Juice), I started feeling a relapse of my nausea and wasn’t sure if I would even make it back to the house without having to hurl in a ditch on the side of the road (sorry to be so graphic ;-(.) U-Hydration – Your Water, Your Way…

For me, nothing can actually replace the clean, crisp taste of a cold glass of water. But I know that even something as simple as water can come in so many different forms and from such a wide variety of sources. (more…)

Good Friday with some Sprite

Thursday, April 1st, 2010
Elbert

This last week has been pretty busy, but nothing out of the norm. I’m halfway through my acting class and near the end of softball season. My workout schedule has tapered off a bit since the start of the year because of these new activities. However, I did go to work out after youth group for the first time late Friday night. I was at the gym from 10:30 to about 11:30 pm. It felt really good so I will continue to do that, and the gym is not overly crowded at that time, so that’s another bonus. Of course, that gym next to church is just better than the one next to where I live, so I need to take more advantage of that whenever I’m at church. (more…)

Since February 22nd, things just haven’t been the same. Yes, there’s work to do, and yes, the planning and future development of the site will continue forward. But like I’ve heard from so many of you throughout our community — “I wanted more!(more…)

YogaHub.TV goes LIVE – Daily!

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

daily-yoga.jpgWhat a difference it makes to do yoga daily. Wow! We’ve been holding daily yoga sessions here at YogaHub HQ for the entire team from Monday to Friday – and it’s been fantastic.

A few weeks back during Thanksgiving, we had a visitor from out of town who was practicing with us daily. She felt so sad when it was time for her to leave us that we started to stream our daily sessions live over the web for her directly through iChat. (more…)

Daily Yoga at YogaHub HQ

Monday, December 28th, 2009
segovia

resolutions.jpgI find it strange that, when I start telling people that we are now providing a daily yoga class to our team here at YH-HQ, most of their eyes light up because they are so envious that their employer or work place doesn’t offer something similar. Then they proceed to share with me about some other friend or colleague of theirs who also has a health benefit or corporate fitness program. (more…)

Morning Yoga

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009
jared

lake-meditation.jpgThese past few weeks have been quite stressful. Along with being busy here at YogaHub, as well as dealing with projects outside of work, my Grandfather was hospitalized last weekend with Pneumonia.

When I can make it to our recent morning Yoga class with Christina, it really helps me relax, unwind, and then energize my mind and body. I think sometimes I forget that our bodies and minds are one and the same and that focusing on working the body can relieve tension in the mind – and vice versa. I don’t know if that makes a whole lot of sense, but I do know that right now it’s helping me release a ton of stress.
