Madoka

Since this year started, I have been unbelievably busy every day and my schedule is already fully booked till October. I don’t know why I’m that busy, but I do know that all the good energies just keep coming into my life, which pushes me to go forward.

There is just no time to catch a cold; however, the other day I began to feel like I had the beginning of a cold. That weekend, I was scheduled to shoot a film, so I canceled all my meetings that filled every evening after work for the week and stayed home to prevent the cold from become worse. (more…)

Being Flexible

Thursday, April 8th, 2010
Madoka

I haven’t practiced yoga for a while, partially because we’ve had a really busy schedule that has temporarily stopped us from doing our daily yoga practice at the office, and partially because I don’t have time or money to go to yoga studios. (more…)

Don’t Be Too Late

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Madoka

eye-pillow.jpgI’ve been working literally like crazy recently. Since half of the YH team members were gone during the holidays, the rest of us had to work twice as hard to prepare everything for the upcoming virtual yoga conference. We were supposed to have a day off on December 31st, and then it became a half-day off, but we ended up staying until 4 o’clock on the New Year’s Eve. (more…)

Neti Pot During the Trip to Prescott

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009
Madoka

prescott.jpgAs some of you have already read in my previous blog, I went to Prescott, Arizona to attend the film festival because the feature film I worked on was being screened. A week prior to the trip with my co-directors, there was heavy rain in Los Angeles and I guess in Prescott as well. Because of the storm, I was told that the small town was covered by snow. (more…)

Prescott Film Festival

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009
Madoka

costume.jpgAs I have previously mentioned, I was invited to the Prescott Film Festival with the co-directors of the film The Red Machine on December 16th. On the Tuesday morning before the festival, the three of us started heading to Prescott, Arizona by car, stopping at a couple of places to enjoy the trip and take pictures, while talking a lot along the way for eight hours. Close to Prescott, there were several places that were so breathtaking that we all became quiet and just enjoyed the view. I also enjoyed seeing some snow on the mountain close to the town, which made me feel a little bit sentimental as it reminded me of my hometown. (more…)

Excitement and Exhaustion

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009
Madoka

the-red-machine.jpgI’ve been so busy recently. I go to sleep at around 2 or 3 in the morning, wake up after a few hours, and go to work. The main reason for this crazy schedule is because I’ve been a lot more involved in my acting career. For example, I am invited to the film festival in Prescott, Arizona this week. I have been putting postcards to promote the film, The Red Machine, which I am acting in. I am planning to promote this same movie in an email broadcast as well. Since I finally finished sending off the postcards to casting directors this weekend, I’m now hoping I can send the e-newsletter by Tuesday evening since I will be on live TV on Wednesday morning with the film’s directors to promote our film (it will only be aired in the Arizona state). This Is It

Monday, December 7th, 2009
Madoka

This-Is-It.jpgI went to a screening of “This Is It” the other night. I was very hesitant about going to the screening, partially because it’s a documentary film, which I’m not a big fan of, and partially because I have never been interested in Michael Jackson.

All of my friends who saw the movie gave me positive responses when I said I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to watch the film or not. Even though I still wasn’t convinced by their encouragement, I went to see it to check out why they were so enthusiastic about it. (more…)

Thanksgiving Weekend

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009
Madoka

sashimi.jpgI hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving last week.

My weekend was a kind of nice, as I had four days off to relax. What I enjoyed this long weekend was that, first of all, I finished reading a book called “The Hundred Secret Senses” by Amy Tan, who also wrote the “Joy Luck Club” book that was adapted to a film in 1993. (more…)

Screening of NINE and Q&A

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009
Madoka

daniel-day-lewis.jpgLast week, I had a screening for the new big budget musical movie called “NINE” that will be released on December 25th. In addition to the fact that I love musicals in live theatres and movies, there was the added bonus of a Q&A with all the main cast members: Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz, and Judi Dench. I’ve been attending a lot of screenings with Q&A where big famous actors come on the stage, but this is the biggest Q&A I could see. (more…)

Feel the Connection: Yoga at the Office

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009
Madoka

connection.jpgAs Angie already mentioned in her blog yesterday, a few mornings ago we had a 45-minute yoga workout before our weekly meeting started. All of us had our own yoga mats, except for baby Zen master and his nanny, so we laid them out and Christina led us through a couple of sets of nice and smooth Sun Salutations.

It had been quite a long time since I’d last practiced yoga, but I knew I wouldn’t have any problems going through the entire session – simply because it was what my body needed. I was very fortunate that my neck wasn’t causing me any problems, but there were some other areas of my body that felt uncomfortable, and my energy flow had been very low recently. (more…)
