Warning: This blog post deals with the “woman’s cycle.” Guys, if you don’t feel like reading it, I totally understand, but if you want a taste of why women get so irritated during that time, then read on. Hopefully it will provide you with a better understanding of what we women go through.

Wow, what a journey the last couple of weeks have been. We have finally completed our first Virtual Teleconference! As a member of the YogaHub team, I am surprised that we were all able to pull it off in such a short time frame, and the response has been overwhelming from everyone who was involved (participants, speakers, etc).

As a member of the YogaHub team, I have had the privilege of sitting in on many of the sessions our 1st Annual Virtual World Yoga Conference has to offer.

I consider myself pretty savvy when it comes to computers. I have never been trained in any sort of IT for computers, but I have grown up around them. Well, a laptop that I bought a couple of years ago had Vista on it. At first, I thought it was a pretty decent operating system until I started to dive deeper into the machine while trying to set up my wireless connection.

Over the holidays, I had the opportunity to clean up my room at my parent’s house. There is something that is quite liberating when you can get rid of stuff. It makes you feel so…clean. If you get emotionally attached to things like I do, the thought of letting something go can be quite painful. However, not all things end up in the trash.

So I am somewhat of a tech junkie. Mp3 players, cameras, camcorders – I keep tabs on all of them. With all of the technology emerging, none has made the impact that Smartphones have. I predict that by the end of 2010, most people’s phones will be “smart.”

I read somewhere that it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile. Having spent the holidays and opened the new year with close family and friends, I can say there were a lot of smiles on our faces. It has been an extremely tough 2009 for everyone on all levels and aspects of life, both personal and professional.

It’s 2010! This last year in particular seemed to just fly by when I think about all that has happened, and all that didn’t happen. There are blessings to be found in both areas for most people, I would think.

I’ve been working literally like crazy recently. Since half of the YH team members were gone during the holidays, the rest of us had to work twice as hard to prepare everything for the upcoming virtual yoga conference. We were supposed to have a day off on December 31st, and then it became a half-day off, but we ended up staying until 4 o’clock on the New Year’s Eve.

New Year’s Eve was a blast! I hung out with good people and rang in 2010 with laughter and good times. That’s always a nice start to a new chapter.
So I said to myself that I wouldn’t hold myself to the traditional “resolutions,” but hey, I set goals (same thing, I think). The usual goals come to mind – eating healthier, exercising more, being more proactive in my career goals, etc. Then I thought of one that has escaped me for many years. I set a goal to not take things too seriously. Not to say that I’ll be like the wind, but my goal is more to “stop and smell the roses,” so to speak.
