Yoga Nidra will enable you to turn this dream into a reality. This gentle, healing form of yoga is one that everyone should do. Although Yoga Nidra is often known as a meditation and relaxation practice, it is far more than that. When practiced properly and regularly, it is a restful and restorative practice that can heal one's body, mind and spirit.
Recently, YogaHub was fortunate enough to be able to interview Jennifer Reis, an expert practitioner and teacher of Yoga Nidra. Jennifer is an E-RYT 500 Senior Kripalu Yoga Teacher, Yoga Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist, Shiatsu and Ayurvedic Therapist who has been teaching workshops on Yoga Nidra for many years. As she explains, “Yoga Nidra is the ability to turn inward to rest and heal yourself. The healing practice of Yoga Nidra relieves stress patterns by re-training the nervous system to relax, thereby gently leading individuals to a place of healing and inner peace”.
This month Jennifer will be offering a professional training workshop: Yoga Nidra Teacher Training: Melt Them into Puddles at Kripalu from May 16th to May 21st.
In addition to this teacher training course, Jennifer also teaches other workshops throughout the year, which we will keep you posted on. One of these workshops is “Deep Relaxation Guided Yoga Nidra”, where Jennifer will teach relaxation techniques that will guide individuals out of their chaotic and stressful lives to a place of healing and inner peace, thereby allowing them to reconnect with themselves.
In addition to her Yoga Nidra workshop, Jennifer offers two Yoga Nidra CDs, Deep Relaxation and Guided Relaxation, which in 2009 were the two top selling CDs at the Kripalu Center, where Jennifer is on the faculty.

For the Woman Who Had No Support by Megan McDonough
Yesterday I walked to Barre — a town about 10 miles from my house. I wore a bright pink shirt that read “for the woman who had no support.” The shirt’s message gave me a boost. It was the reason I had decided to take a sunny day and spend most of it walking to get no place in particular. Continue Reading...
Madness before Magic by Christina Souza Ma
Oh, the joys of a vacation. It has been so long – exactly 3-1/2 years – since my last vacation. I am so looking forward to being on the high seas with my family. No work, no cooking, no grocery shopping, and (hopefully) no worries. Internet is still not really affordable unless it is an emergency so there is no excuse to even go online. Continue Reading...
