Is Your Intuition Calling?
YogaHub presents Anatara Buckley's six-workshop series on “Intuition, Your Inner Tutor,” which begins next week on May 3rd and continues every Monday and Thursday until May 20th.
The Series will be set up in a very similar manner to the Virtual Conference. There will be the “classroom,” where you will be able to access the handouts in pdf format and dial in info to listen to by phone or web stream. The replay will also be available there for the duration of the workshop. This classroom will also connect directly with a private forum workspace so that the work can continue up to a month after the series.
As we all know, the learning begins with awareness - and then it is endless.
The Joy of Laughter
Do you have a bit of time to humor us? If so, take a few minutes to think about something that genuinely makes you laugh. Did you hear a great joke the other day? Or perhaps you saw something that tickled your funny bone? Or maybe someone played a brilliant April Fool's Day joke on you recently? Just take a moment to relive that experience in your mind and enjoy a good laugh!
Has your mood lifted? Are you feeling better than you did just a few minutes ago? Well, that's the power of laughter. Recent studies indicate that the old adage “laughter is the best medicine” is proving to be true. In a study conducted by cardiologists at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, laughter was shown to have a positive impact on preventing heart attacks. Laughter can improve blood circulation, decrease stress, and help individuals sleep better – and that's just a few of its many benefits.
We all know that April 1st is April Fool's Day - but did you know that the entire month of April is National Humor Month? Founded in 1976 by best-selling humorist Larry Wilde, Director of The Carmel Institute of Humor, National Humor Month “is designed to heighten public awareness on how the joy and therapeutic value of laughter can improve health, boost morale, increase communication skills and enrich the quality of one's life.”
We're almost into May, though, so there's not much time left to enjoy National Humor Month. No matter - World Laughter Day takes place every year on the first Sunday in May, and this year it falls on May 2nd. World Laughter Day was created in 1998 by Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of the worldwide Laughter Yoga movement. But what exactly is Laughter Yoga?
