Stop Being So Stressed
It's very easy to be told "stop being so stressed out" or "stop working
so hard." But "HOW?" is the question that continues to come up for many
of us. We only know what we've learned over the years, and dealing with
stress is not regularly taught in any educational system.
What would you say if we told you that we can help you learn how to deal
with stress and create inner peace in your life?
We are delighted to present the first of our two-part Teleseminar to you this coming Wednesday, October 21st: "Infinity in a Box, Living with
Ease" by Megan McDonough.
Megan will guide us through the simplicity of learning to live with ease
in busy and hectic lives that seem to give us very little down time.
This event is presented at no cost to you through our YogaHub Site. We
look forward to this insightful teleseminar with Megan, and hope that you
will come and join us.
Alternative Therapy or Conventional Medication?
Every year in October, the National Council on Patient Information and
Education (NCPIE) promotes its "Talk about prescriptions" month. This
year's theme, "Communication is key," focuses on the importance of
communication between patient and medical practitioner. While the NCPIE
is doing admirable work in promoting the safety and well-being of
individuals who are on medication for a variety of illnesses, it does
not focus on other, non-medicinal methods of treating illness.
The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCAM)
recognizes the important role that alternative medicine can play in
helping to heal patients. NCAM promotes integrative medicine, a
combination of conventional medication and alternative therapy.
Alternative therapy can often assist individuals in reducing discomfort
without having to rely solely on conventional pain management
medication, which can sometimes lead to the risk of addiction if not
managed correctly. There are strong emotional benefits to alternative
therapy as well: individuals participate in their own healing process
and, by doing so, not only become more invested in the curative process
but also regain a sense of control over their minds and bodies.
One of the most popular of these alternative therapies is yoga, a
self-discipline that focuses on health management. Yoga poses help to
stimulate internal organs, remove tension, relax the mind, and improve
vitality. A regular yoga practice can help to correct irregularities in
our biological systems and contribute to a healthy balance in life.
