Have any of you ever noticed our YogaHub theme music?
In our last newsletter, we shared with you the importance of music in our lives. This week, we're dedicating our newsletter to the gentlemen who composed our theme music because we feel that their mesmerizing compositions are an integral part of our website.
Have you ever stopped to wonder why a company's theme music is so important?
Music stirs the senses, creates images, and expands our imagination. Most of you, I'm sure, have heard an advertising jingle that has stayed with you long after the advertisement itself was over. In many cases, the music itself could remain in your sub-conscious mind through the years, conjuring up memories of a specific time in your life whenever you hear it.
That's why theme music is so important to a company such as ours. When we first thought about our theme music, we knew we wanted it to convey our visionary journey to you. We wanted the music to resonate with the primal strength that exists deep within the core of each of our beings and embed it firmly into the earth. When we say that this site "revolves around you," we mean it. We truly believe that if we find strength from within ourselves, we will achieve balance in life no matter what we choose to do.
Nathan Wang, an award winning composer, and his partner, Gary Chase, graciously gave their time, energy, and passion to create our theme music. They diligently and tirelessly worked closely with me and my team to capture our vision and to translate that vision into sound and frequencies.
I took a moment recently to ask Gary what it was like working on our theme music. "It's going into meditation and playing with sounds - but all projects vary", Gary responded. "Sometimes it's like having to prepare for battle (a meditation of sorts), where you have to destroy your opponent or be destroyed...so the protective auric shield at the arcline is where I start."
Who would have known that these gentlemen, with their incredibly busy schedules, would even consider embracing our vision, which was all it was when I first approached them.
I had met Nathan many years ago when we both worked in theatre, supporting non-profit theatre behind the scenes. Even then, he radiated an obvious love and passion for music - a passion that has now led him to become an acclaimed and well-respected composer in the theatre, television, and film industry. Nathan is currently directing his creativity toward the Broadway production of "Imelda," which is opening in New York City in October this year.
Gary Chase, a Yogini himself, has worked with Nathan since 1999. They collaborate harmoniously in blending their musicality into a dance of instruments and sounds. Both Nathan and Gary have the innate ability to fire the imagination of anyone who is fortunate enough to encounter their art.
Gary has just finished composing the music for "Perfect Pregnancy 2", a yoga DVD for pregnant women, which we hope to have available here at YogaHub in the near future.
We hope this newsletter has given you a new appreciation of our beautiful theme music. If you have not yet been fortunate enough to hear it, go to our YogaHub.TV site, where you will be able to watch our promo and be gifted with an essence of Nathan and Gary's rhythmical expertise.
We are never alone in anything we do and, without the support and assistance of those around us, we could never truly share our vision and journey with you.
Thank you, Nathan and Gary, for bringing joy into our lives and sharing your passion, creativity, and musical yoga journey with us.
Namaste,
Christina Souza Ma

Super Bowl Yoga by Francesca Silva
Last weekend was Super Bowl Sunday, which meant party time over at our house. My husband, the ultimate couch supporter, enjoys watching almost every sport, even though soccer is his first true love - come on, you didn't think I was going to say that I'm his first true love, did you?! Onward Downward Dog by Angie Harris
Why is it that what seems to be a simple pose turns out to be the hardest? Take the mountain pose, for instance: it seems fairly easy enough - or is it? Anyone can just stand there, but I am sure there are a number of smaller, finer details that need to be addressed. I'm assuming the same will go for the other poses too. Continue Reading...
