What's New in the World of Yoga:
Here in Los Angeles, October offers us a sporadic mixture of uncommon sweltering days, crisp evenings, and chilly mornings. During this season, our bodies often react to these subtle changes in the environment, causing us to feel unsettled. By practicing yoga regularly, we can regain our equilibrium in mind and body.
In order to maintain the balance that we enjoy from our regular yoga practice, however, it is important for us to take time out to review and renew our commitment.
Have you been performing the same yoga routine day after day without change? When was the last time you attended a yoga class of a different form?
There are many options that you can consider to help you revitalize your yoga practice. Here are just a few ideas that may help to refresh your practice, your body, and your enthusiasm.
1. Attend a yoga retreat. There is a wide array of retreats in unique settings - from Hawaii to India - that offer intensive workshops, organic menus and time for meditation. Check out our YogaHub Events Calendar for some options.
2. Attend a yoga conference. Here you will have the opportunity to work with yoga teachers from around the world who can offer new perspectives on your yoga practice. If you're interested in attending one soon and you're near Texas, you should check out the upcoming Southwest Yoga Conference, which will be held this year in Austin from October 23rd to the 26th.
3. Invite a friend to join you for a class. Do you remember the first time you went to a yoga class? It is such a joy to share special moments like that with friends and to spend time talking with them about the wonderful benefits of practicing yoga regularly.
So, if you're feeling lethargic and uninspired about your usual yoga routine, take a few moments to consider what you might be missing in your practice. And while you're doing this, why not reflect on all that you have achieved since your first class. You may surprise yourself with the realization of how much you've accomplished – and that feeling could be just what you need to renew your commitment to yoga.
