Here we are at YogaHub, working on a momentous event that was one of the main reasons we built this site in the first place. Finally, after five years in the making, we are at the doorstep of our First Annual YogaHub Virtual World Conference! Yes, you read this right.

Initially, we were going to launch the site for registration at the beginning of next year, but because of the very helpful feedback we received, we decided to launch it next week.

Yes – next week!

When we told this to the YH Team, they went into a bit of a shock at first. I could well understand how they felt because even I reacted that way when I first heard myself say the words. But what else can we do but laugh? This is quite a focus. We will need to pull all our energies and resources together to fulfill this requirement.

So a yoga session every morning to ground our energies, ignite our spirits, and soar towards our goals is truly helping us expand our so-called limitations. We can do this, I know we can!

We’ll laugh if we succeed and laugh if we come close to our goal. And I promise that we’ll get a longer “Shivasana” next Wednesday morning.

This is the literal Latin meaning of the word solstice (sol -sun, sistere – standing). Between December 20 and 23 the Winter Solstice is celebrated throughout the Northern Hemisphere (Southern Hemisphere celebrates June 20-23). This time has commonly been known for mid-winter celebrations such as Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa.

In ancient cultures the Winter Solstice was considered as a turning point in the year. Many communities centered their most holy and sacred buildings such as tombs and temples upon the direct alignment with the solstices. Today, we simply define this day as “the shortest day, the longest night.” Or more scientifically “the earth leans slightly on its axis…it’s 23 degrees and 27 minutes off the perpendicular to the plane of orbit. ‘’

I pause to think of our Winter Solstice as an opportunity to take notice of the mysterious forces of nature. That although we may try to implore, seduce and at times even demand a shift within Nature, it is its own master.

In some countries, it is a time for blessing the apple trees, or where families built fires “to help the sun (and Goodness) battle darkness (thought evil).” Found within each of these Winter Solstice celebrations is the idea of rebirth, rejuvenation and the return of the light.

We at YogaHub offer our prayers and meditations for a more peaceful planet and honor the individual faiths and beliefs of our YogaHub community as we all prepare for a healthier, and more balanced future.

Namaste.

Wow! What an exciting week it’s been for us here at YogaHub as we’ve finally put the finishing touches on an exciting new project we’ve been working on for several months.

Our new Audio Yoga eGrams are a 52-week postcard series incorporating creative imagery, motivational quotes and approximately 60 seconds of audio yoga tips to inspire you and help keep you focused on your own personal yoga practice.

Although we priced these Yoga eGrams at $27, after a long deliberation we decided that we want to help inspire the world, so we are giving them away for free. All you need to do is type your first name and email address into the purple box above and every week, for the next 52 weeks, we will automatically deliver one of these inspirational eGrams to your email Inbox.

We hope they will inspire you in your yoga practice. All we ask in exchange is that you take a moment to share them with your family, friends, your personal yoga instructor or teacher, and any other yoginis or fellow practitioners.

We have designed a special tool on the top right-hand side of each postcard, where you can quickly and easily forward them to others.

If you choose to use our “Pay-It-Forward” form online, you will also receive credit for any referrals as, once a month, we will select an individual to receive a special gift as a token of our appreciation for sharing these messages.

YogaPostCards.com <== See for yourself

Peace and Blessings,
