A few months ago we brought you the story of Matt Sanford, who at the age of 13 was paralyzed from a car accident. In his struggle to improve his mobility and decrease his chronic physical suffering, he began to take Iyengar yoga classes. From this his life opened up before him and he is now one of the most sought after teachers of adaptive yoga. His unique efforts and unselfish acts have resulted in his nomination for a Volvo for Life Award. (more…)

Last year around the world, yoga studios, teachers, and students participated in a 2-hour fundraising yoga session. Each participant was asked to make a donation of their choosing to support the efforts of an organization that is working to uphold human rights in their country. (more…)

Each of us has a reason for practicing yoga. Whether for physical or spiritual goals, we may not imagine that it is what it is actually saving our lives. However for many people who are challenged with a chronic illness that may very well be their answer.
